Breakfast Tacos: Awesome Oddity?

We may take it for granted here in Austin, but people outside of the city limits think what Austinites do is pretty weird.

Namely, eating breakfast tacos.

The New York Times has published a lengthy article detailing the phenomenon of the breakfast taco, so ubiquitous here in town, and such an oddity to many far-flung readers of the NYT.

The article gives the archetypal breakfast taco the criteria of a sub-$2 cost, a flour tortilla wrapper, and ingredients that stray beyond traditional Mexican food.

Whether you're a bean-and-cheese traditionalist or the kind who takes your taco piled high with eggs, chorizo, cheese and potatoes, it's worth a read.  And let us know in the comments -- what's your favorite place to pick up a few tacos?
