Trail of Lights Comes to an End with Free Sing-A-Long Tonight

The city of Austin got into the holiday spirit this year a little cheaper by offering its annual Trail of Lights free of charge because of the current economic climate, except for a small parking fee of $10. The city found it could offer a free lights display if it scaled back the event, hosted around the Zilker Tree. The Parks and Recreation department built Santa's House, a half mile lighted pedestrian area, and offered nightly entertainment.

The end of the Trail of Lights has come after several weeks of a nightly lighting and entertainment, a holiday festival fun run, and more. According to PARD, tonight a concert featuring Asleep at the Wheel and friends will host a holiday sing-a-long. The musicians banded together to come up with a donation to offer the sing-a-long for free.
