boob tubers

It's been quite a headline the past couple of days... strippers going to the Comal River to float. This has caught a national mention on a few media outlets. Strippers from a men's club in San Antonio... taking a trip to the river... but it's on the "high" heels (thank you Sarah) of New Braunfels being stricter on the river rules. Many thought they were coming to float the river to spite the new ordinances. Today was the tubing trip; we staked out at the strip club at 10... waited for them to FINALLY leave at 12:15. Got on the river, after more painstaking time following them. at about 2:30. It doesn't take nearly 2 1/2 hours to get to New Braunfels. So you can figure how much more we waited on these slow people to stop at the convenience store for more party supplies, and to be talked to by the Chief of Police in New Braunfels.

Got the story... got back to the station around 4. 5:30 news. Hurried with what I could dribble out on paper, and watched the other stations do their pieces. 4's sucked -- VOB. I think we did the best job, although I think my best job on this particular story was Thursday's, the initial story telling of strippers going to the river with their customers. You can check it out on www.mysa.com, click video on the left bar, and look for some title about New Braunfels and strippers.

It was an incredibly long weekend. I spent the weekend nights by myself as Sarah took her birthday butt to Galveston for yet more celebration of the month-long holiday that is her birthday. I'm not complaining, and I love celebrating the event. Just seems that every year it's a big to-do that I have to try to outlive the next year. One of these years I'm just going to have to come out and say... Sarah, I have no better ideas. Here's your cupcake. Nah, I'm teasing, and I'm not bitter or jealous or anything else you may be thinking. I was just all alone with nothing to do. But I did talk to Mike B quite a bit and discovered that just because I have no where to go, or no one to hang out with, that I'm indeed not pathetic. I'm just low-key. I watched Demolition Man which I've been aching to see. Can you believe I hadn't seen it yet? All I can say is Be Well.

I'm still struggling to really attain a satisfactory understanding of the Middle East conflict, although I may know all I want to know without having the urge to pluck my eyes out. The past two nights I've been watching the History channel, which has been quite entertaining. I watched a show about Nostradomus and another about the Antichrist. I think it may be viable background information needed in order to start an interesting conversation with someone at some point. I just love having a little bit of info to help expand into a nice conversation. My life as a reporter revolves around knowing a little tiny bit about something, and having other people expand on it. The only difference is when I'm not working, I can offer my own opinion back. When I am working, I just let them do all the talking.

The photo contest. I guess I need to reveal the one thing I've been trying to get out of it, and that is the #2 photograph is not my own. I'm sure you can see the image is a scanned one from the newspaper, the San Antonio Express News. The photographer is J. Michael Short, and it's a special to the Express. I wanted to see the job I was doing compared to that of the work of someone who is published in the paper, to see how I can improve and become better. Thanks for all your opinions.

I'm off for the next two days. I'm trying to come up with a plan for the days off. It seems to me that usually I find myself very bored and unoccupied, which makes my days off seem like a waste. I want productive days. I want to see about going back to the Northside Oriental Market to pick up some more Thai tea. I want to test out the Pearsall Dog Park with Hailey, to see if it would be a big no-no to take Barker there as well. Barker doesn't do as well as Hailey around other dogs, so it's best if I took her to test the park. I'd like to do some laundry, and also relax a bit. I think I'm just about done with this blog for now.... preparing for a cozy bed, and the comfort of knowing that I have no one to wake up for, except myself when I'm good and ready, and a few tasks that should be completed at a reasonable rate of time.

Weekend take one!
