In the next 30 years, a whopping 750,000 people will move to Austin. And why not? It seems as though families and singles alike can find a number of appealing aspects to enhance their lives. Music, culture, nature... it's all here.
But to accommodate the growth, jobs will most certainly have to also be a part of the picture. It's expected that 300,000 positions will open up in the next three decades.
Planning will be a priority of city leaders, who will be hosting a mapping exercise for none other than students who may be a part of the landscape of the city when they grow up. Similar to the popular exercises in recent public forms, which gets attendees themselves involved, the mapping assignment will incorporate active participation Wednesday. Imagine Austin staff members will be on hand during two morning sessions beginning at 9:15 and three afternoon sessions starting at 12:15. The event will be held at Stephen F. Austin High School.
