Team of Public Safety Officers Hits the Gridiron For Kids

The Central Texas Wolf Pack Public Safety Football Team will face off against the Cleveland Warriors Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Toney Burger Activity Center.

The Wolf Pack is part of the National Public Safety Football League. Teams in the league raise money over the course of the season to benefit local charities. The Wolf Pack is a non-profit, semiprofessional football team made up of members of about 15 different public safety agencies in Central Texas, and raises money to support the East Austin Community YMCA. All players are full-time law enforcement officers, firefighters, corrections officers, or EMTs. They pay dues to be a part of the team and provide their own equipment.

The money raised helps to support programs that give at-risk kids the opportunity to play in organized athletics. For the season schedule and more information about playing with or sponsoring the team, visit centraltexaswolfpack.com.
