President Powers Backs Decision to Cut the Cactus
The clip above is Courtesy of The Austin Chronicle, which video taped UT's president, William Powers, in a town hall style meeting with folks from the university community. The Chronicle reports that the meeting filled to capacity and beyond, requiring additional seating, and that Powers really "put himself out there" on a topic getting a lot of negative publicity. Also getting some attention from the president is the topic of cutting the popular informal classes, which offers continuing education on various subject matters without the opportunity for credit. Watch the video, and read the rest of the article from The Austin Chronicle here.
