People who bleed burnt orange will be front and center to watch the game with other fans Thursday night. The game kicks off at 7 p.m., and many places around town will have watch parties to make it a night to remember.
Speakeasy's BCS Championship "Tailgate" Watch Party will start at 4 p.m. They boast no cover, free beer and a bar-b-q buffet! Wow! Oh, and did we forget to mention the 150" screen? "Go early, stay late, be loud, and wear orange," says its website.
Pasadena Comes to Austin is Austin's official watch party, according to Shaarp Management and Round Rock Express. They have a partnership with the Texas Exes Austin Chapter and the Austin Crimson Tide Club (does anyone else think that's a little weird, yet totally exciting?) to host this one. Starts at 5 p.m. and will be at the Intel Club at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Cost is $20 per person and includes entry and the cost of food: burgers, hotdogs, hot wings, dessert. Drinks are not included. You might need a reservation for this one, but check it out.
Doc's Backyard will have a National Championship Watch Party from 7-9 p.m. 5207 Brodie Lane.
City Lights Theaters offers a dine-in menu while you watch the game. 420 Wolf Ranch Parkway will get you to this party which gets underway at 7 p.m. And hey, with free childcare (Child N Play) how can you go wrong?
You may bleed burnt orange, but do you drink it? Maybe - if you head to Sherlock's Baker St. Pub and Grill. Burnt orange beer will be a'flowin. Sherlock's is at 9012 Research Boulevard. Let us know how the orange beer is!
This one sounds like a real treat! "The Hub and Social Thinker present the best BCS Championship watch party of 2010!" The Hub has a 12x16 foot HD screen under the trees (think: cold). But with complete surround sound, heaters, a camp fire, AND SMORES!!!!, what more could you ask for? Yes, and the best part is it's helping a good cause. The Hub will be donating a percentage of the sales for the night to the Easter Seals, which provides outreach and advocacy to people living with autism. Food/Drink Specials Include: Smores, as previously mentioned. $3 'Hook'Em Texas Cheese Fries, $20 all you can eat wings, buy one get one dogs, and $3 Dos XX drafts and $12 pitchers. Prizes given away when Texas scores, and there's even a raffle for a UT golf bag.
