The Associated Press says the lead prosecutor has been chosen in the case against the man suspected of shooting 13 people at Ft. Hood. Col. Michael Mulligan is expected to head up the prosecution of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan. A senior military official said Col. Mulligan secured the death penalty in a similar case four years ago.
Hasan's charges include 13 counts of premeditated murder, and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the November 5 shooting at the largest military installation in the world.
The Associated Press reports that Mulligan prosecuted a case in 2005, where Sgt. Hasan Akbar was given a death sentence for a 2003 attack in Kuwait that left two dead and 14 injured.
