Texas Longhorns senior quarterback Colt McCoy has picked up three awards so far on his trip to New York: the Maxwell Award, the Walter Camp Football Foundation's Player of the Year and the Davey O'Brien Award.
The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the best football player in the United States, and is voted on by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, NCAA head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is selected by NCAA Division I-A head coaches and sports information directors, under the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
The Davey O'Brien Award is awarded to the best NCAA quarterback by the Davey O'Brien Foundation, and is generally considered to be more prestigious than the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which is only awarded to seniors.
Meanwhile, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska has been presented the Outland Trophy, the Chuck Bednarik Award, the Bronko Nagurski Award and the Vince Lombardi/Rotary Award.
McCoy and Suh, along with Stanford running back Toby Gerhart, Alabama running back Mark Ingram, and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, are finalists for the 2009 Heisman Trophy, which will be announced on Saturday, December 12.
