For some Christmas-time charities, donations of clothes and toys are needed to help make someone's holidays a little brighter. But for the Christmas Bureau of Austin and Travis County, the point is to take an entire family to match them with basic services they need.
Today is the last day to help a family with the agency closing for the season on Christmas Eve.
What You Can Do
Sponsoring a family means providing a suitable uncooked holiday meal and toys for the children. You can sponsor a family three ways:
- Visit the Christmas Bureau office at 7301 Burnet Road #108 and select a family;
- Call the office at 453-3950 and a volunteer will select a family for you
- Or register online by clicking here
The Christmas Bureau would like to provide as much for the families as possible, and say that gift cards from stores like Target and Wal-Mart are appreciated. "In kind" donations like toys and clothes are better suited for the other drives like Blue/Brown Santa or the Salvation Army.
