Longhorn's Davis Arrested for DWI

18 year old Marcus Davis, a freshman defensive end for the Texas Longhorn football team, was arrested early Sunday in Pearland after officers found him drunk while driving.

The report says officers took a call from a concerned citizen who thought the driver of a blue SUV may have been drunk. The caller said the driver was driving on the rim of a blown tire. Police took Davis in on DWI and possession of a controlled substance charges.

The arrest is the second player in one month the UT football program has dealt with. D.J. Monroe was also arrested for DWI charges in Hays County earlier this month. A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said Monroe was weaving on I-35 in Buda.

Coach Mack Brown issued a similar statement for Davis as he did for Monroe. Television stations report Brown said the players are suspended indefinitely until the legal process plays out.
