But I'm here to put an end to the debate once and for all. My all time favorite pick, no matter what season, is the fall! The chill in the air, the change from extreme heat to relief, the hop it puts in our step, the colors (well, at least when I lived in Missouri the leaves on the trees actually changed, instead of just turning brown and falling off)... it's just a neat time! I'll admit the drawbacks are the sniffles. That kind of sucks. But overall, it just seems like life is a little more alive at that time. I do have to say I'm thankful for not living too far north. I like the snow, but I'm not a fan of the weeks and months at a time of it.
Tonight I've been shopping around on the homebrew websites for some beers that are synonymous with the fall. One of my favorites are pumpkin ales. Dogfish Head produces a fantastic "Punkin' Ale." Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale is another of my favorites. Of course, there are so many others that go with the season and really, that's what makes my season so delightful! I'm in the process of ordering some recipes, and I will definitely make it a point to visit the homebrew store locally very soon. I just haven't been cooking up recipes lately. I imagine because... well the baby of course... but it's been so hot. Usually cooking with my big boy equipment requires a few hours of stove time. Who needs that in this 100+ degree weather!
Cheers to upcoming fall season, family, friends, and great beer.
