What brings you back?
For me, it's Dry Comal Creek's Comal Red, cheese and crackers, a little Hershey's chocolate, and a night of sitting with my sweet - that is, Sarah - and listening to some music. Preferably Jazz. Preferably with some great laughs and good conversation.
It's just like we used to do in Joplin, sans Comal Red. We had been introduced to it, no doubt. But we lived in Missouri, where we didn't have access to some good ole Comal Red.
We stopped to get some today because Janette is holding four bottles from Landon's wine club hostage. Yep, we belong to wine club. Just one, though. Since we don't live up that way anymore, J picks up our wine club wines. We can't wait to see J...for obvious reasons...but also for our wine. I snicker about that.
You ever been excluded from something? How did it feel? I can name countless scenarios from my life. My middle school life has its own volume of stories. Clothes. Friends. Band nerd. Prep. Gym. On and on.
This week's podcast is about exclusion, and a mission that just became a revolution for many people this week. Find out what happened, the liberation felt by many, and the continuing fight to be included...
Speak Podcast #20, Sunday, August 23.
