I am thankful for...

God, Sarah, my family, friends, peace in my heart, love around me, and the blessings in my life. Today is yet another Thanksgiving; my second in San Antonio since I've been working here. Over the years, Thanksgivings haven't changed all that much. When my great grandparents passed away, the dinner moved to Meme's. It's been there ever since.

But since Sarah and I have been together, counting Joplin, we've kind of established our own little traditions. Not big, of course. We tried to make our own little dinners, failed at some recipes, soared in other areas.

I guess it's all kind of "Thanksgiving in training" for when we have our own family. You learn from your roots and pass those things down. We half-way watched this History channel special about the first Thanksgiving. It was interesting and eye-opening to think about how the Pilgrims and "Indians" became connected at that point in time, and how it really shaped our lives today.

So on this Thanksgiving, many years later, I have so much to be thankful for. I reflect on how our traditions now came to be, and I think about the many traditions in the future of my family yet to be made.
