Mr. Bento on Board!

Today my new Zojirushi Mr. Bento stainless lunch jar arrived! I've been carrying a Tiffin container similar to these (mine is a 4 tier) for several months. It's been working great! I love it, and it's quite a conversation starter.

But I had been looking for more... not quantity... but rather versatility. My Tiffin does not keep things hot or cold whatsoever. I eat my lunch at a temperature at wherever I find myself for that day. Since I work outside a lot, most times that means I'm eating very warm, not so good food. It's never let me down, though. I just sought out food items that could be eaten without being heated up. (No problem in the Texas summer).

Mr. Bento is insulated. Today is my first lunch with it along for the ride. I'm testing it out right away. The two bottom containers, which are the largest and which also are liquid tight, are warm dishes. I have Miso soup in the last container, followed by dirty rice and sausage (like a jambalaya). The top two containers are cold. I packed a salad with grape tomatoes, grapes, spinach leaves, mushroom, and balsamic vinagrette. The top container is something I copied from someone else who also carries a Mr. Bento: plain yogurt sprinkled with brown sugar, honey, blueberries and walnuts.

We'll see how it goes today. I'll report back soon.
